Despite forecast for rain, thousands of people attended Amsterdam’s Pride parade this year to celebrate LGBTQ rights.
Amsterdam’s iconic Canal Pride Parade was in full swing on Saturday August 5, with around 80 carefully decorated boats, each with its own theme and organization sponsor.
People sang, danced and waved pride flags in colorful outfits on the boats to celebrate the LGBTQ rights.
The boats were dedicated to different groups such as the trans community, the Asian and African LGBTQ community, gay expats in Amsterdam and more.
“Once again this year, there are special boats and participants, including, ARTIS, two boats commemorating 150 years of abolition of slavery, Sober is Sexy, Youth Pride, three women’s boats including Pink Melanin and a campaign for safer nightlife” Amsterdam Pride organizers said.
