More than 250,000 people marched thorugh the streets of Amsterdam, the Netherlands, in another “Red Line” protest, demanding the government stop supporting Israel’s genocide in Gaza and take stronger action to end it.
The protests on Sunday, Oct. 5, organized by more than 130 human rights groups including Amnesty International, PAX and Oxfam Novib, was the third “Red Line” protest in 2025, following the first two in The Hague in May and June, which drew more than 100,000 and 150,000 people respectively.

Since the first Red Line rally in May, the Dutch government has begun to shift its position on Israel and imposed travel bans in July on two far-right Israeli ministers for inciting violence against Palestinians and calling for the ethnic cleansing of Gaza.
Relatives of activists abducted and detained by Israel after it intercepted the Global Sumud Flotilla also joined the march for Gaza, according to local outlet RTL.
Between Oct. 1, and Oct. 2, Israeli forces intercepted at least 39 boats from the Global Sumud Flotilla, kidnapping and detaining more than 400 activists and confiscating the aid and medicine meant for Palestinians in Gaza.
The protest came less than a month before the Dutch general elections on Oct. 29, adding pressure on parties to clarify their stance on Gaza.
Israel’s genocide in Gaza has now killed more than 67,139 Palestinians in Gaza, mostly women and children.
