Austria has made it a crime to send unsolicited genital images or dick pics.

Under the new law, which went into effect on Sept. 1, anyone who sent genital images without consent could face up to 6 months in prison or a fine.

The law cover all forms of electronic communication, including text, email, social media, even AirDrop and Bluetooth.

If someone repeatedly sends genital images it could be considered persistent stalking under Austrian law and could lead to tougher penalties.

Austrian law already bans sharing or possessing sexual images of minors, and now this new law expands the protection to adults too.

The Ministry of Justice and Women’s Affairs said the law is aimed at protecting people, especially young women, from online sexual harassment.
