A Zookeeper In China Let This Boy Feed The Penguins So He Jumped Straight Into The Water To Do It
The boy’s mom later said in an interview that her son had explained afterwards that he jumped in the water because he wanted to feed the penguins in the water.
A video of a boy in China jumping into the water to feed penguins at an aquarium has gone viral and people are loving it.
The incident happened on Tuesday Feb. 20 at an interactive “penguin feeding” activity at an aquarium in Sichuan in Chengdu, China.
As part of the activity, visitors are allowed to get a closer look at the penguins and hand feed them.
In a video shared on China’s TikTok, Douyin, the aquarium keeper can be seen handing the boy a fish and stepping back to take a photo.
The keeper then nods his head in the direction of water, indicating to the boy to walk forward to the edge of the water and feed the penguins.
Without hesitation and warning, the boy pushes past the penguins surround him on the surface, takes three steps forward and jumps straight into the water.
The aquarium keeper, visibly shocked, then rushes forward and scoops the child out of the water.
The boy’s mom later said in an interview that her son had explained afterwards that he jumped in the water because he wanted to feed the penguins in the water.
She added that the zookeeper then awarded her son with the feather from a real penguin for “being the bravest child.”
