China recently hosted its first-ever 3-on-3 football match for AI robots, but it didn't go as expectedOn June 28, four teams of Chinese AI robots faced off in the 2025 RoBoLeague football tournament in Beijing.
The 1.5 meter tall robots tried everything from offense and defense to strategy and positioning and even refereeing, with a lot of tripping and falling.
Most managed to get back on their feet on their own, but some “injuries” were too severe, and the robots had to get taken off the pitch on stretchers.In the end, Tsinghua University's robots defeated China Agricultural University's robots and won the RoBoLeague championship title.
