In April, China’s first police corgi named Fu Zai went viral in the country after he was filmed grabbing a sausage from a little girl during a street patrol.
In the video, Fu Zai, whose name roughly translates to little lucky one, was walking past the little girl when he suddenly jumped up and snatched the sausage right out of her hand.
Fu Zai works with the police in Weifang, Shandong Province.
He became a trainee in January 2024 and officially joined the police team in October.
Due to his cute looks and strong performance, Fu Zai has already become popular.
He even has an account on Douyin, the Chinese version of TikTok, called “Fu Zai and His Teammates,” with more than 410,000 followers.

Fu Zai is known for being obsessed food and was described as “a corgi willing to do anything for food,” according to The New York Times.
In fact, it was his passion for snacks that helped him stand out in training and become China’s first-ever police corgi.
His human later said Fu Zai is now training to better resist food while on duty.
But of course fans still love him, and some even joked that they would happily offer him free sausages the next time he’s on patrol.
