The owner of the injured puppy, who was named as a woman with the surname Huang, told local outlet *China Youth Daily* that the dogs appeared just in time.
“All three dogs were in the middle of the road. Luckily, the other two helped protect my dog and cars were able to avoid hitting them.” she said. “What’s even more amazing is that they somehow managed to drag the puppy right to my front door.”
Huang said her puppy only suffered a few minor scratches and is recovering well.
She said she believes the two heroic dogs are good friends with her dog.
“They often play together when I take my dog out,” she added.
Since then, the two stray dogs have been adopted by other locals in the city and given the names “Da Fu” and “Da Gui”, which means "great fortune" and "great honor" in Chinese.
