Diesel Built A 200,000 “Condom Mountain” At Milan Fashion Week To Celebrate Sex Positivity
The collaboration with Durex explores themes of freedom, pleasure and experimentation with the goal of sex positivity and breaking down the stigma over using condoms.
Italian fashion brand, Diesel, kicked off Milan Fashion Week with a giant “condom mountain” on Wednesday Feb. 22.
In collaboration with Durex, Diesel decorated the runway with 200,000 Durex condom boxes to promote both safe sex and the label’s new collection.
The collection, created by the two brands, is named “For Sucsexful Living” – which comes from Diesel’s slogan, “For Successful Living” –and aims to bring sex positivity and break down the stigma of using condoms.
The entire line of the new collection explored themes of freedom, pleasure and experimentation – featuring models walking around the condom mountain in torn denim garments with sheer mesh patches, ripped silk dresses with glittery body chains and oversized clothing.
In keeping with the theme, the condoms will be given away for free at all Diesel stores starting in April, Diesel’s creative director Glenn Martens said in a social media post.
“Sex positivity is something amazing. We like to play at Diesel, and we are serious about it. Have fun, respect each other, be safe,” Martens said in a statement, according to CNN.
