Egypt’s President Has Said A Two-State Solution Is The "Only Way To Achieve Peace" For Palestine
His words came after the US, Qatar, Turkey and Egypt signed the first phase of the Gaza ceasefire deal at the peace summit.

Egypt’s president Abdel Fattah El-Sisi has said a two-state solution is the “only way to achieve peace” for Palestinians and Israelis and “turn this chapter of history” after signing the Gaza ceasefire deal at the Gaza Peace Summit in Sharm El-Sheikh, Egypt.
Sisi, US President Donald Trump, Turkey’s president Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and Qatar’s emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani signed a document formalizing the first phase of a Gaza ceasefire agreement on Monday, Oct. 13.
“I reaffirm our support and aspiration for the implementation of this plan, creating the political horizon necessary for the implementation of the two-state solution,” Sisi said after the signing, adding that Palestinians also have the right to enjoy freedom and to live in their independent state.
Sisi also took the opportunity to extend peace with Israel.
“Let us ensure this historic moment ushers in a new beginning for a life defined by justice and peaceful coexistence. Let us look forward together to a brighter future for the children of our nations. Let us join forces to forge a just and durable peace for all peoples of the region,” he said.
During the peace summit, Egypt had hosted leaders from more than 20 countries, including French President Emmanuel Macron, UK Prime Minister Kier Starmer, German Chancellor Friedrich Merz, Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez and Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas, to discuss the next phase of the ceasefire deal.
Sisi said Egypt will work with the US and partners to lay the foundations for the reconstruction of Gaza.
Hamas and Israel have only agreed to the first phase of the ceasefire deal, which includes the release of Palestinian and Israeli hostages, the entry of humanitarian aid and the withdrawal of the Israeli military to an agreed upon line.
