An eight-year-old Palestinian boy named Waseem has made a video reporting on the situation in Gaza with the help of Palestinian journalist Duaa Tuaima.
Waseem wanted to be just like the journalists reporting from Gaza and asked Tuaima to help him to make a video so he can share the realities on-the-ground with the world.
“I will walk while we are talking,” the young journalist tells Tuaima, before beginning his report.
“We are in the Nasser Medical Center, and you can see this,” Waseem says. “Have mercy on us; have mercy on us.”
“We are not allowed to use the bathrooms. We tell them we can use them even if it’s dirty, and they [Israeli forces] don’t agree,” he says. “We are tired of this life, take us back to our homes,”
Waseem said. “Please, please, we don’t have food. We don’t even have a small piece of bread.”
Thousands of Palestinians are seeking refuge in crowded shelters, with more than 400,000 cases of infectious diseases and more than 8,000 cases of Hepatitis A having been reported since Oct. 7, according to the UN.
More than 25,000 Palestinians in Gaza have been killed by Israeli airstrikes and a ground offensive, with most of them being women and children, since Oct. 7.
