A French Anti-Fascist Group Torched Tesla Cars At A Dealership To Protest Elon Musk Amplifying Neo-Nazism

An anti-fascist group burned multiple Tesla vehicles in a small town in France to protest Elon Musk’s involvement in amplifying the neo-Nazi movement.

On the night of March 2, an anarchist group identifying as the Anti-Authoritarian Information Toulouse and Surrounding Areas (IAATA) set fire to eight Tesla cars in a Tesla dealership in Plaisance-du-Touch in southwestern France.

Four additional cars were badly damaged, but the interior of the dealership was not affected, officials told AFP, according to France24.

On March 4, IAATA published an article on its website claiming responsibility for the attack, saying it set fire to the vehicles using gasoline cans to protest against Elon Musk, the far-right and the rising of a fascist agenda.

“Today, there is an acceleration of the fascist, patriarchal, ecocidal and colonialist project. While the elites multiply the Nazi salutes, we decided to salute in our own way a Tesla dealership on the night of March 2 to 3, 2025 in Plaisance-du-Touch,” the group said.

Musk has been accused of being a Nazi supporter after he did a Nazi salute during US President Donald Trump's inauguration, which was celebrated by neo-Nazi groups online.

Musk also delivered a speech at a rally for Germany's far-right Alternative for Germany(AfD) party, which promotes an anti-immigration, anti-Islam agenda and has a large neo-Nazi following.

In an article published on March 8, the group urged others to join them in their campaign against Tesla.

It said Musk has “worked alongside Donald Trump in his fascist and patriarchal offensive that is far from being limited to the borders of the United States.”

Additionally, the group said electric cars are part of a myth surrounding the "energy transition" due to their reliance on minerals.
