After The French Parliament Banned The Palestinian Flag, These Politicians Dressed Up In The Flag’s Colors For Gaza

In a show of solidarity with the Palestinian cause, French opposition politicians dressed up in clothing in the colors of the Palestinian flag during a session at the National Assembly on Tuesday, June 4.

The left-wing politicians collectively formed the Palestinian flag by each wearing a different color – green, black, red and white.

The act came after the French National Assembly prohibited raising the Palestinian flag inside the assembly building.

The parliamentary session was filled with tension, as one member of parliament from the La France Insoumise (LFI) party, Rachel Keke, who also wore an outfit made up of the colors of the Palestinian flag, was reprimanded for waving the Palestinian flag.

I thought things were very clear and that you had, like everyone else, been able to read our rules, » The National Assembly’s president said, calling for Keke to be sanctioned and temporarily suspended the session.

Just a week earlier, another MP from the La France Insoumise (LFI) party, Sebastien Delogu, was suspended for 15 days for raising the Palestinian flag during a question session in the parliament when another LFI lawmaker asked about the situation in Gaza.

Delogu has defended his actions, stating, « I believe the French state is complicit in what is happening in Palestine today. Our group and I are proud to stand on the side of international law.
