This Four-Year-Old Boy In Gaza Was So Happy About The Ceasefire He Called It A Holiday
"Today is your holiday, Gaza!”
Children in Gaza celebrated the end to fighting after 15 months of war and erupted in joy as the ceasefire deal officially took place.
In a short video posted on Sunday, Jan. 19, when the first phase of the ceasefire agreement between Israel and Hamas began, a four-year-old Palestinian boy named Jemo shared his reaction to the ceasefire taking effect for the special day and it was incredibly wholesome.
“Wear the nicest clothes. Spray the best perfumes. Today is your holiday, Gaza,” Jemo said.
He is then joined by about a dozen other children who jump up and down, expressing their happiness.
Since posted, the video has gone viral, obtaining more than five million views.
The start of the ceasefire deal has led to celebrations from people across Gaza, including Palestinian journalists.
Thousands of Palestinians, who have been displaced by Israel’s genocide on Gaza, are now allowed to return to their homes in north Gaza.
Israel’s genocide in Gaza has killed more than 47,283 people including 17,861 children.
Meanwhile, Israeli prime minister Benjamin Netanyahu has said that Israel has the right to resume fighting during the second phase of the deal with the US' “full backing”.
Reports also showed that Israeli forces have reportedly violated the ceasefire, with Israeli snipers shooting and killing three Palestinians in southern Gaza on Monday, Jan. 20.
