This Palestinian Boy In Gaza Shared His Touching Reaction To The Temporary Truce: “I’m So Happy”
“I swear life is beautiful like this, without the sounds of drones. I got so happy. I got so happy.”
A Palestinian boy in Gaza has shared a touching video capturing his reaction to the temporary four-day truce, which began on Friday Nov. 24.
The video of the boy, named Abdullah Almajaida, was shared on the Instagram of his older brother, Ashraf, a university student in Gaza, and has gone viral with more than 9.8 million views.
In the short video, Almajaida expresses how happy he feels about the pause in fighting while walking on the street.
“There are no sounds of [Israeli] planes. Can you hear? Can you hear?” he says.
He went on to say that he was very happy to hear the news of the truce but added that he hopes the truce will become a permanent one.
“I swear life is beautiful like this, without the sounds of drones,” he said. “I got so happy. I got so happy.”
Israel and Hamas agreed to a brief pause in fighting on Wednesday Nov. 2
Under the deal, there will be a minimum of a four-day ceasefire, during which Hamas will release at least 50 women and children it took hostage when it launched its surprise attack on Israel on Oct. 7.
In return, Israel will release 150 Palestinian women and children it holds in its prisons and allow aid to enter Gaza.
The first batches of the Israeli hostages and the Palestinian women and children have been released and the rest are expected to be released over the next two days.
However, Israeli prime minister Benjamin Netanyahu has said that Israel has no plans to pursue a permanent ceasefire, saying that it will continue fighting after the temporary truce until it achieves its goals of freeing all its hostages and eradicating Hamas.
