Israel Has Now Killed The Palestinian Granddad Who Called His Killed Granddaughter The "Soul Of My Soul"

Israel has now killed Khaled Nabhan, a Palestinian grandfather known for his emotional farewell to his killed granddaughter who he called the “soul of my soul”.
In November 2023, Israeli forces killed Nabhan’s three-year-old granddaughter Reem and five-year-old grandson Tarek while they were asleep in Gaza.
Nabhan gained widespread attention on social media after a heart-wrenching video of him mourning Reem went viral.
Nabhan was seen gently caressing Reem's face with his beard, kissing her closed eyelids and tearfully saying in Arabic, "Rouh Al Rouh" meaning "soul of my soul".
In a different video, he crouched by his grandchildren, who were wrapped in burial clothes, combing Tarek's hair just "the way he liked it," he told CNN at the time.
After Reem's death, Nabhan became a symbol of courage and resilience.
Despite losing his family members and being forced to flee multiple times, Nabhan dedicated himself to helping others in his community and provided aid to people and animals affected by Israel's genocide.
He posted videos showcasing life in Gaza, often feeding stray cats, volunteering at hospitals, and starting initiatives in the name of his grandchildren, including giving toys and winter supplies to traumatized children wounded by Israel’s relentless attacks.
He also helped in distributing food supplies and cooked meals for Palestinians in need in Gaza.
More than a year later, an Israeli attack that struck the Nuseirat refugee camp in central Gaza on Monday, Dec. 16, killed Nabhan, the beloved grandfather.
Nabhan's nephew, Saed Nabhan, told CNN, that he witnessed severe tank shelling in his neighborhood and Khaled "saw injured people and ran to help, but was instantly killed by another tank shell.”
The bombing also killed at least four other Palestinians, including a child, according to the Palestinian news agency Wafa.
Video shared by several Palestinians journalists on social media showed Khaled's bloodied, lifeless body on a hospital bed, surrounded by mourners who called out his nickname, "Oh, Abu Diaa."
"What a great man we have lost. We will never have someone like him again," Saed told CNN.
Since Oct. 7, Israel has killed more than 45,059 Palestinians, 70% of whom are women and children.
