Meet The 12-Year-Old Palestinian Boy Who Has Been Volunteering As Gaza’s Youngest Paramedic

A 12-year-old displaced boy has become the youngest paramedic in central Gaza.

Inspired by the tireless efforts of the medical staff, Zakaria Mohamed Salem Sarsak now assists doctors at the Al Aqsa Hospital in central Gaza by inserting cannulas and attaching IV fluids.

He also helps bring injured people to the hospital and its various departments and those killed to the morgue.

Zakaria has also been helping by taking blood pressure readings of the wounded patients.

Zakaria decided to volunteer at Al Aqsa Hospital after Israel’s genocide forced him and his family to flee from their home.

"I go with the ambulance to bring casualties. When we go to get injured people after attacks, I feel sad for children. We bring all injured people to Al Aqsa Hospital," Zakaria said.
