After Being Deported By Israel, Greta Thunberg Gave A Powerful Speech Slamming Governments For Failing
"Let me be very clear. There is a genocide going on in front of our very eyes. A livestreamed genocide on all of our phones,”

Swedish activist Greta Thunberg gave a powerful speech after she was deported by Israel along with hundreds of other activists from the Global Sumud Flotilla who tried to sail to Gaza to break Israel’s siege and deliver humanitarian aid.
Thunberg was abducted by Israeli forces in international waters along with more than 400 activists between Oct. 1 and Oct. 3, when Israeli forces illegally intercepted most of the boats on the Global Sumud Flotilla.
Israel then began to deport the detained activists over the weekend.
Thunberg arrived in Athens, Greece, on Monday, Oct. 6, where she was welcomed by dozens of Pro-Palestine supporters.
In a press conference at the airport, Thunberg said that the Global Sumud Flotilla mission was a story of international solidarity, of people standing up when their governments failed to do so.
“This is a last resort,” she said. “That this mission has to exist, it’s a shame.”
She said that she could talk for a long time about the mistreatment and abuses that she and other activists abducted by Israel endured during their imprisonment, but that is not the story.
"Let me be very clear. There is a genocide going on in front of our very eyes. A livestreamed genocide on all of our phones,” Thunberg said. “No one has the privilege to say, ‘we are not aware of what is happening’,”.
She slammed government officials around the world for “doing the bare minimum” and not stopping the worst war crimes from happening, adding that she will never be able to comprehend how humans can be so evil.
In a separate video she posted on her Instagram, Thunberg called on people around the world to join the global uprising for justice, freedom and equality and put pressure on governments to fulfill their legal obligations.
“We have truth, morale, international law, justice, love, history, the solidarity of the world, as well as basic fucking common sense on our side,” she said. “The war criminals have hate, lies and weapons. Justice will prevail. Free Palestine.”
Israel genocide in Gaza has killed 67,160 people since Oct. 7, 2023.
