A short clip of an Indian auntie making rocket soda, a popular soft drink, at a busy train station in Kolkata has gone viral, with people drawn to how quickly and aggressively she prepares the drink.
In a series of videos first posted by user travelicious88 on TikTok and Instagram, the woman is seen making sodawala, a common Indian street drink typically made with lemon juice, soda water, salt, spice and ices, at remarkable speed, pouring and mixing glass after glass without stopping as commuters move past her stall.
In the videos, the auntie is seen preparing four glasses of rocket soda in one go, first throwing a big ice cube into each glass, tipping it out onto her hand and smashing it with the glass and putting it back in, adding powdered flavor sachets, sugar and squeezing lemon juice in, before dramatically opening a glass of carbonated soda, pouring it in and stirring the drink aggressively.
