1. Iranian Rock Climber Elnaz Rekabi
33-year-old Elnaz Rekabi has been welcomed by massive crowds upon returning to Tehran after she competed without a headscarf at a tournament in South Korea on Sunday Oct. 16.
2. Iranian Schoolgirl Asra Panahi
16 year-old Asra Panahi refused to sing a pro-regime anthem to protest the government and mandatory hijab laws after Mahsa Amini’s death. She was reportedly beaten to death in the classroom by security forces.
3. Brazil’s First Trans Women Lawmakers Erika Hilton And Duda Salbert
In a first for the country, Brazil has elected two trans women, Erika Hilton and Duda Salabert, as lawmakers in its general election on Sunday Oct. 1.
