Israel Is Bombing Several Parts Of Syria And Launching Its Deepest Ground Invasion At The Same Time
The attacks caused widespread destruction, particularly in the Hama Military airport, killing at least 13 people and injuring 22 others.

Israel is intensifying its attacks on Syria, bombing several parts of the country and launching a ground invasion at the same time, marking its deadliest attack on the country since rebels liberated Syria in December 2024.

On April 2, Israel bombed several military targets in Damascus, Hama and Homs, including two airports.
The attacks caused widespread destruction, particularly in the Hama Military airport, killing at least 13 people and injuring 22 others, according to the Daily Sabah.

Israel then launched a deep ground invasion in South Syria in the Daraa province on April 3, claiming it was an operation on “terrorist infrastructure," killing at least nine people, according to Syria’s state run SANA news.
SANA reported that it was the deepest Israeli forces have invaded.
Israeli officials said the attacks were to protect Israel’s security from any threats, claiming that Turkey is attempting to turn Syria into a Turkish protectorate, which is a smaller or weaker country or territory that is protected and partially controlled by a stronger, more powerful country, Reuters reported.

Turkey is currently negotiating a joint defense pact with the new Syrian government, and there are also reports that Turkey is looking to station aircraft and air defense systems at two Syrian airbases in T4 and Aleppo, according to BBC.

Israel has warned Syria to stop allowing hostile forces into its territory, stating that if this continues, the strikes will persist.
The Syrian government condemned the attacks and demanded Israel withdraw.
“This unjustified escalation is a deliberate attempt to destabilize Syria and exacerbate the suffering of its people," the Syrian Foreign Ministry said in a statement on Telegram.
Turkey also condemned Israel’s actions, saying "Israel has become the greatest threat to regional security" and is a "strategic destabilizer, causing chaos and feeding terrorism.”
