Israel Bombed A "Safe” Camp In Gaza Again, Leaving Huge Craters And Entire Families Missing
Experts said the amount of destruction left by the bombing is clear evidence that Israel used 2,000 pound bombs in the densely populated humanitarian zone.
Israel has bombed a camp in Gaza sheltering thousands of displaced Palestinians it had designated as a “safe zone”, killing at least 19 people and injuring more than 60 others in the early hours of Tuesday, Sep. 10.
Israel launched at least four missiles on the densely populated area in Al-Mawasi, Khan Younis, leaving three craters nine-meters deep and flattening at least 20 tents.
Entire families went missing under the sand, according to witnesses.
Experts said the amount of destruction left by the bombing is clear evidence that Israel used 2,000 pound bombs in the densely populated humanitarian zone, according to the New York Times.
Israel claimed it was targeting a Hamas command center, but Hamas said it is a “blatant lie”.
Thousands of Palestinians had evacuated to Al-Mawasi after the Israeli military designated the area as a “humanitarian zone” in early December 2023, when it was invading on Khan Younis and Rafah.
Israel had already bombed Al-Mawasi camp earlier in July, saying it was targeting senior Hamas leaders and killing at least 90 people.
Since Oct. 7, Israel has bombed zones it had designated as “safe” in Gaza multiple times, under the claim it is targeting Hamas leaders or fighters.
Palestinian officials said the latest bombing is “one of the most heinous massacres in this frenzied war.”
Since the beginning of its genocide in Gaza, Israel has killed more than 41,020 palestinians, mostly women and children and injured more than 94,925 people with many still missing under the rubble.
