Israel Is Pounding Beirut And Other Lebanese Cities With Bombs As Its Genocide In Gaza Hit One Year
The Israeli military launched one of the most intense Israeli air strikes on Lebanon since it started what it called a “new phase” of its war on Sep. 17
Israel heavily bombed Beirut’s southern suburbs and other cities across Lebanon on the evening of Sunday, Oct. 6, launching one of the most intense Israeli air strikes on Lebanon since it started what it called a “new phase” of its war on Sep. 17 against Hezbollah to return Israelis who fled the north to their homes.
The Israeli military issued evacuation orders for residents of southern Beirut late on Sunday.
Later, videos showed Beirut's sky lit up with explosions, and thousands of people fleeing the city.
The Israeli military confirmed it has been targeting southern Beirut, claiming they were targeting Hezbollah, the Iran-backed militant group.
At the same time, it is also expanding its ground raids in Southern Lebanon, with the Israeli military announcing a third military division is joining its ground raids.
Israel said its ground invasion, which began on Sep. 30, was a “limited, localized, and targeted” operation against Hezbollah targets in villages close to the border that “pose a threat” to Israeli communities.
Hezbollah launched rockets late on Sunday on Haifa city in Israel, saying it was targeting a military site.
Israel is expanding the war in the Middle East, intensifying its attacks in Gaza, where it has killed more than 41,870 Palestinians, while also attacking Lebanon, Yemen and Syria in its quest to eliminate all of Iran’s proxies in the region.
