Israel Bombed A Popular Cafe For Journalists In Gaza, Killing One Journalist And Injuring Another
The attack killed 39 people, including freelance journalist Ismail Abu Hatab and visual artist Frans al-Salmi.

Israel bombed a cafe on the beach of Gaza, killing at least 39 people as it continues systematically attacking and killing Palestinians every day.
Israeli forces launched a massive airstrike on Al-Baqa Cafeteria in north Gaza on Monday, June 30.
The seaview cafe was a known gathering spot for civilians, particularly journalists and served as a refuge for many people, offering some relief from the heat of the tents.
But the sudden Israeli attack left a deep crater at the site, with bodies scattered across the place.
Videos on social media of the aftermath showed significant destruction and blood everywhere as emergency crews searched for survivors.
The attack killed 39 people, including freelance journalist Ismail Abu Hatab, who had already been injured in a previous Israeli airstrike, and visual artist Frans al-Salmi.
Many others were also injured, including journalist Bayan Abusultan, whose only brother was killed by Israeli forces in March 2024 when they besieged the al-Shifa hospital in Gaza for 14 days.
Israel has killed 228 journalists in Gaza since it began its genocide on Oct. 7, 2023, making it the deadliest period for journalists in recorded history, according to CPJ.
