Israel Bombed Near Another Hospital In Gaza, Injuring People Outside And Damaging Parts Of The Facility
The director of Indonesian Hospital said the vicinity of the hospital was struck with 11 missiles.
Israeli fighter jets have attacked the vicinity of Indonesia Hospital in Gaza, damaging parts of the facility and injuring a number of people.
The director of the hospital said the vicinity of the hospital was struck with 11 missiles on the evening of Thursday Nov. 9.
Various videos shared on social media showed huge explosions lighting up the sky near the hospital as people ducked and ran from the yard into the hospital to seek refuge in between the strikes.
Palestinian officials said there were “a number of injures” as thousands of displaced people had been sheltering in the hospital’s yard.
Just days earlier, the head of Indonesia Hospital broke down in tears while speaking to Palestinian journalist Mahmoud Abusalama about the dire conditions at the hospital as Israel continues its relentless bombardment of Gaza.
After Israel placed Gaza under a “complete siege” and blocked fuel, electricity and essential medicine from entering, 16 out of 35 of the hospitals in the Gaza Strip are no longer operational, according to Al Jazeera.
The remaining hospitals, which have come under attack repeatedly by Israel’s airstrikes, are operating at overcapacity.
Several are facing severe shortages of medicine, supplies and water, with many running on back up electricity, which is rapidly running out.
Video shared on social media showed hospitals receiving patients in the dark and doctors operating on patients using only the flash light from mobile phones.
“We’ve been forced to carry out surgical operations on the floor. We’ve totally run of out fuel, medical supplies and medicine across all hospitals in Gaza. We are expecting the number of fatalities to rise,” a spokesperson for Gaza health ministry said.
