Just One Day After Bombing Qatar, Israel Bombed Yemen’s Capital Again, Saying It Is To "Cleanse" Them
The attack came after Israel killed the prime minister of Yemen's Houthi-led government, along with several other government ministers, in an airstrike on Aug. 28.

Just one day after launching an unprecedented attack on Qatar in an attempt to assassinate top Hamas leaders, Israel has now bombed Yemen’s capital, Sanaa, again.
On Wednesday, Sept. 10, Israeli warplanes struck civilian and residential areas in Sanaa and al-Jawf, killing at least nine people, according to Yemeni authorities.
Yemen’s Ministry of Health said that 118 people were injured, with rescuers still searching for people trapped under rubble.
The attack came after Israel killed Ahmed Ghaleb al-Rahawi, the prime minister of Yemen's Houthi-led government, along with several other government ministers, in an airstrike on Aug. 28.
In response, the Houthis had launched on Sunday, Sept. 7, a drone strike on Israel’s Ramon Airport, which Israel failed to intercept.
Israeli prime minister Benjamin Netanyahu said that its attack was in response to the Houthis’ attack on the airport.
“We will continue to cleanse anyone who strikes us. Anyone who attacks us, we will reach them,” Netanyahu said in a statement after the bombing.
Since Oct. 7, 2023, the Houthis, an armed group that controls most parts of Yemen, have been launching missile and drone attacks towards Israel and on commercial and military ships in the Red Sea.
The group, which is backed by Iran, also announced it was imposing a "comprehensive" aerial blockade on Israel in May 2025.
