Israel has killed at least 31 Palestinians, including six children, in one of its worst attacks on Gaza since the “ceasefire” began on Oct. 10.
On Saturday, Jan. 31, Israel launched a series of relentless bombardments across Gaza.
In Khan Younis, Israel bombed a tent sheltering displaced Palestinians, killing at least seven people, including three children, in al-Mawasi, according to Al Jazeera.
In Gaza City, emergency services reported that an Israeli air attack killed at least five Palestinians, including three children, in an apartment building in the Remal neighborhood, while eight Palestinians were also injured in an Israeli bombing of an apartment building in the Daraj neighbourhood.
Another Israeli airstrike in Gaza City hit a police station, killing at least 14 people, including police officers and detainees.
Those killed included two women and six children from two different families.
Israel claimed its attacks were in response to a ceasefire violation by Hamas on Friday, Jan. 30, when eight men came out of a tunnel in Rafah, southern Gaza, in an area in the so-called “yellow line” controlled by Israel.
Israel has violated the “ceasefire” over 1,450 times, killing more than 524 Palestinians, since it began in October.
Egypt, Jordan, the UAE, Indonesia, Pakistan, Türkiye, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and Qatar strongly condemned Israel’s repeated violations of the ceasefire in Gaza, saying it is undermining peace efforts.
Israel's attacks came a day before the Rafah crossing along the border with Egypt is set to open.
