Israel has killed three Palestinian journalists in Gaza despite the “ceasefire”.
On Wednesday, Jan. 21, Israeli forces targeted and bombed a vehicle belonging to the Egyptian Committee for Gaza Relief, killing four people, including three journalists.
The three journalists, Mohammed Salah Qashta, Anas Ghneim and Abdul Raouf Shaat, were traveling in the vehicle to document the suffering of Palestinians in central Gaza, Gaza’s Ministry of Health told Al Jazeera.
The Israeli military said it struck "several suspects who operated a drone affiliated with Hamas”, according to the Guardian.
“Following the identification and due to the threat that the drone posed to the troops, the IDF precisely struck the suspects who activated the drone,” the Israeli military said, adding the incident was under investigation.
The spokesman for the Egyptian Committee said the Israeli military was aware the vehicle belonged to the group.
The Israeli military also carried out attacks in other parts of Gaza on Wednesday, killing at least seven other people, including two children.
Al Jazeera reported Israeli soldiers shot and killed a 13-year-old boy in southern Gaza, and AP reported Israeli forces shot another boy collecting firewood.
Israel has killed more than 260 journalists in Gaza since it began its genocide on Oct. 7, 2023.
It has also killed at least 484 Palestinians in Gaza since the “ceasefire” began between Israel and Hamas on Oct. 10, according to Gaza’s Ministry of Health.
