After Facing Immense Pressure, Israel Has Announced A "Tactical Pause" In Fighting In Gaza For Aid To Enter
Israel will pause its military operations in Al-Mawasi, Deir al-Balah and Gaza City, from 10 am to 8 pm local time starting Sunday and until further notice in order to facilitate humanitarian aid delivery.

Under immense international pressure, Israel has announced it is implementing a daily "tactical pause" in three parts of Gaza to facilitate humanitarian aid delivery as another 14 Palestinians have died from starvation in Gaza.
Israel said on Sunday, July 27, it will pause its military operations in Al-Mawasi, Deir al-Balah and Gaza City, from 10 am to 8 pm local time starting Sunday and until further notice in order to facilitate humanitarian aid delivery.
It said that during the pause, it will establish designated secure routes to allow the UN and humanitarian organizations to safely deliver food, medicine and other essential supplies.
Following Israel’s announcement, aid was allowed to enter Gaza through Egypt and Jordan, but it is still far short of the 600 trucks needed daily to even begin tackling the humanitarian disaster in Gaza caused by Israel’s blockade to 2.3 million people.
The Egyptian Red Crescent sent a convoy of 100 trucks carrying over 1,200 tons of food supplies into Gaza through the Rafah and Kerem Shalom border crossings early Sunday.
Jordan, in coordination with the UAE, also conducted three airdrops delivering a total of 25 tons of humanitarian aid over Gaza and sent a convoy of 60 trucks of aid.
The “tactical pause” came after immense international pressure on Israel for mass starving the Palestinian population in Gaza, with dozens of Palestinians killed by starvation and hundreds shot and killed by Israeli forces while trying to reach aid daily at the controversial US- and Israeli-backed Gaza Humanitarian Foundation (GHF).
Israeli forces said in a statement that there is no starvation in Gaza, adding that it is a “false campaign” promoted by Hamas.
147 people, including at least 88 children, have been killed due to malnutrition in Gaza since Israel began its blockade on Gaza in March.
Since Israel unilaterally broke the nearly two-month ceasefire in Gaza on March 18, it has also blocked all humanitarian aid from entering Gaza for more than 80 days, leaving 2.3 million Palestinians to starve.
It then allowed only a “basic” amount of aid to enter but through the controversial US- and Israeli-backed aid agency, Gaza Humanitarian Foundation (GHF).
Israeli forces have killed more than 1,132 Palestinians trying to reach aid since GHF began distribution in late May.
Meanwhile, Israel killed more than 88 people across Gaza on Sunday, including 11 trying to reach aid.
