Italy’s Far-Right Prime Minister Interrupted Her Interpreter To Translate Herself Into English
"Wait, wait, wait, wait, I will do that."

Italy's far-right minister Giorgia Meloni is going viral again for interrupting her interpreter to translate herself during her meeting with US President Donald Trump in April.
In a video making the rounds on social media, Meloni is seen listening intently to an interpreter translate her response to a question about Italy reaching NATO's defense budget into English.
She is then seen sitting up and stopping the interpreter, saying "Wait, wait, wait, wait, I will do that" before proceeding to translate the question and her answer into English for Trump and the reporters.
Meloni had already gone viral right after the meeting after she was caught rolling her eyes when Trump said he wouldn't stop increasing tariffs on the EU.
No immediate breakthroughs on tariffs were achieved from the two’s talks, though Meloni invited Trump to visit Rome, potentially to facilitate dialogue with other European leaders.
At the meeting, Meloni also encouraged Trump’s war against undocumented migration, spoke out against social justice and diversity programs, saying that her government also has no room for “woke ideology,” according to The New York Times.
"The goal for me is to make the West great again, and I think we can do it together," she said.
