Jamaica Has Been Hit By The Strongest Hurricane In Its Modern History, Leaving 19 People Dead

Hurricane Melissa, a catastrophic category 5 storm, has hit Jamaica, destroying infrastructure and leaving many without power, being the strongest hurricane to hit the island in 174 years on Tuesday, Oct. 28.

"Jamaica's gone through what I can call one of its worst periods. Our infrastructure has been severely compromised,” local government minister, Desmond Mckenzie, said.
