Japanese Students Were Caught Eating Straight From An Ice Cream Machine And Caused A Controversy
The students admitted they wanted to create a funny video that would go viral.
Just four months after videos of people in Japan sabotaging conveyor belt sushi restaurants, another video of three Japanese college students eating straight from the ice cream machine has gone viral and sparked a controversy.
The video was taken at a karaoke chain outlet in Kuki City, Saitama Prefecture, in November 2022 but was reposted on social media and posted in February, according to NHK WORLD-JAPAN.
In the video, a 21-year-old male student is seen bending over and opening his mouth to eat directly from the ice cream machine.
The video has gone viral and become a topic of conversation.
The shop owner notified authorities of the video and on July 7th, three university students, one who appeared in the video and two others who recorded the footage, were sent to the prosecutor’s office, according to Yahoo Japan.
They were arrested for “forcibly obstructing business”, since the shop needed to clean the entire machine and fix its damaged reputation.
All three students admitted to the charges, saying they “were drunk, feeling wild, and wanted to make funny videos that can go viral,” according to NHK WORLD-JAPAN.
“What have I seen? A 21-year-old? Please go clean the karaoke.” A Twitter user wrote.
