“Gaza is the symbol of our inadequacy.”

South African investigative journalist Khadija Patel told Almost at UNESCO’s World Press Freedom Day event in Santiago, Chile, that the attacks on journalists reporting in Gaza is a crisis for not just protecting journalists but ensuring how journalism survives for generations to come.

However, Patel says that young people shouldn’t feel disheartened because there is a lot that they can do to shape the future of journalism.
