Netanyahu Said The Israeli Hostages Should Be Released "In The Coming Days" And Hamas Will Be Disarmed
Netanyahu said that Hamas will also be disarmed either diplomatically or by military means by Israel and that Israel, backed by Trump, will not let Hamas stall in negotiations.

After Hamas agreed to parts of US president Donald Trump's 20-point plan for a ceasefire in Gaza, Israeli prime minister Benjamin Netanyahu said that he hopes Israeli hostages, both dead and alive, will be released “in the coming days”.
In a televised address on Saturday, Oct. 4, Netanyahu said he is expecting all hostages held by Hamas in Gaza to be released in the coming days without Israel withdrawing its forces from the Strip.
He said that Hamas will also be disarmed either diplomatically or by military means by Israel and that Israel, backed by Trump, will not let Hamas stall in negotiations.
Netanyahu’s statement came after Hamas said on Friday, Oct. 2 it accepts the release of all Israeli hostages in Trump's proposal and to hand over the administration of Gaza to a “Palestinian independent (technocratic) authority.”
However, it said that other points of the plan, including the future of Gaza and the rights of the Palestinian people, will need to be discussed through comprehensive negotiations based on relevant international laws and resolutions.
Following Hamas' announcement, Trump called on Israel to “immediately stop the bombing of Gaza” to allow the safe and quick return of hostages.
However, Israel is still pounding Gaza with bombs, killing more than 130 Palestinians across the Strip since Trump called for the bombing to stop.
Meanwhile, Israeli and Hamas delegations will meet in Cairo, Egypt, on Monday, Oct. 6, to finalize the ceasefire deal, discuss the exchange of Israeli hostages for Palestinian prisoners and lay the groundwork for ending the nearly two-year genocide.
Since Oct. 7, 2023, Israel has killed more than 67,139 Palestinians, mostly women and children.
