Netanyahu Has Called Israeli Protesters “Fascist” For Demanding He End The Genocide In Gaza
“They said they would surround my house, the prime minister's house, with a ring of fire, just like fascist phalanxes.”

Israeli prime minister Benjamin Netanyahu has compared Israeli protesters, who are demanding he end Israel’s genocide in Gaza, to “fascist militias”.
Netanyahu’s remarks came after hundreds of demonstrators staged a “Day of Disruption" on Wednesday, Sept. 3, to pressure the Israeli government to negotiate an end to the war and strike a deal for the immediate release of the remaining 50 hostages.
Huge protests have erupted across Israel after Netanyahu announced Israel was expanding military operations in Gaza City as part of its plan to fully take over the Strip.
The move has concerned the families of hostages, who said the government’s plan would endanger the lives of the remaining hostages, 20 of whom are still believed to be alive.
In Jerusalem, crowds marched from the Israeli parliament to Netanyahu’s official residence, holding signs reading “Stop the war” and “Death cabinet”.
Others blocked Israel’s main highway between Tel Aviv and Jerusalem, according to Anadolu.
Activists also reportedly set fire to a car belonging to an Israeli reservist soldier near Netanyahu’s residence.
“It’s [the government’s] job to get them back, and we've been waiting way too long,” an Israeli protester told Reuters, “It's been almost 700 days that they've been suffering there.”
In a video statement, Netanyahu criticized the protests, comparing demonstrators to “fascist militias”.
“They threaten every day to murder me, the prime minister, and my family, and they also engage in arson,” he said. “They said they would surround my house, the prime minister's house, with a ring of fire, just like fascist phalanxes.”
Hamas has offered to release the hostages if Israel ends its genocide in Gaza, withdraws its military from the Strip and helps in reconstruction efforts, but Israel has repeatedly turn down the offer.
Israel’s genocide in Gaza has now killed more than 64,300 Palestinians since Oct. 7, 2023.
