A man in Norway woke up to find a huge cargo ship in his yard.

At five o'clock morning on May 22, Johan Helberg awoke to find a huge 134-meter-long cargo ship had crashed into his yard, saying that if it had veered five meters further south, it would have hit his bedroom.

Helberg's neighbor witnessed the ship heading straight toward his house before stopping and immediately ran to alert him.

"The doorbell rang at a time of day when I don't like to open," Helberg told local channel TV2, adding that the ship was "a very bulky new neighbor but it will soon go away."

The ship, registered under the name NCL SALTEN and the Cypriot flag, had 16 crew members onboard from Norway, Lithuania, Ukraine and Russia.

No injuries or oil spills were reported.

Police later said that an officer on the boat has since testified and said that he had fallen asleep prior to the incident, according to the New York Times.

The ship was later successfully refloated on May 27, five days after the incident.
