A Bus Taking Olympic Skateboarders To Practice Broke Down So They Skated There Instead

Olympics skateboarders from the US and Canada did what they do best when their bus ran into issues while taking them to the street skateboarding venue for practice ahead of the Paris Olympic Games.

In a video captured by Canadian pro skater Matt Berger and posted by skateboarding duo Berrics on Friday, July 26, athletes can be seen walking away from a bus stopped on the road.

Berger is then seen filming himself as he and other skateboarders behind him charging through the historic streets of Paris on their skateboards towards Place de la Concorde, where the street course is located.

Berger said the bus had gotten stuck on a road while making a turn, People reported.

He said that after waiting for 10 minutes, the athletes decided to make their own way to the venue.

The men’s Street Skateboarding event was set for Saturday, July 28, but due to the heavy rain on Friday evening, the competition on the outdoor urban park was postponed to Monday, July 29.

The women’s Street Skateboard event set for Sunday continued as planned, with 14-year-old Japanese skater Yoshizawa Coco, a first time Olympian, taking home the gold.
