Meet Conan, a six-month-old stray cat hired to keep a mall in the Philippines safe. Conan works on the security team of the Worldwide Corporate Center in the capital, Manila.
He was hired when he was just a few weeks old after being scouted by a housekeeper at the building’s parking lot.
He wears a black and yellow vest with the word “security” on it, and his responsibilities include working 12-hour shifts entertaining human security guards.
Conan’s special skills include playing and sleeping more than his human colleagues.
His presence makes him a highly respected and key member of the team.
“If Conan isn’t around then I’m not motivated,” 30-year-old security guard Aljon Aquino said. “He takes away my stress.”
