Pope Francis Made A Surprise Visit To A Church In The Vatican While Still Recovering From Double Pneumonia
The pope wore black trousers instead of his usual white papal robes and skull cap and a small oxygen tube was visible under his nose.

Pope Francis, who is currently on a two-month recovery period from double pneumonia, made a surprise visit to St. Peter's Church in the Vatican on Thursday, April 10.
The 88-year-old pontiff has been resting there since he was discharged from hospital on March 23, after he was hospitalized for five weeks.
On Thursday, wearing black trousers instead of his usual white papal robes and skull cap, Francis visited the church in a wheelchair to see the final stages of restoration work and greet some of the workers, according to the Italian news agency ANSA.
Even though he stayed only a short time, people gathered to see him and children came forward to receive his blessing, according to the Vatican News.
Videos on social media showed the Pope being wheeled through the basilica, smiling and waving to visitors, with a small oxygen tube visible under his nose.
The Vatican has said that the Pope is still recovering but has slowly started attending meetings.
At first, it was announced that the Pope would not appear in public or meet anyone during his recovery.
However, on April 6, he made an unexpected appearance in St. Peter’s Square, where he attended a mass and addressed the pilgrims gathered there.
On Wednesday, April 9, he met privately with the UK’s King Charles and Queen Camilla at the Vatican’s Casa Santa Marta for their 20th wedding anniversary, the BBC reported.
