After Dropping Her Piqué Diss Track, Shakira Put A Witch On Her Balcony Facing Her Ex’s Mother’s House
“You left me with your mom as a neighbor, the press at my door and a debt at the Treasury,” Shakira sings.
Days after breaking the YouTube record for biggest debut for a Latin song for her new song, a diss aimed at her former husband, Spanish football player Gerard Piqué, Shakira has reportedly put up a witch on her balcony facing her ex-mother-in-law’s house and is blasting the song on repeat.
The 45-year-old Colombian singer released her latest song, “BZRP Music Sessions #53”, a collaboration with Argentine DJ Bizarrap, on Wednesday Jan. 11.
The song, also known as “Out Of Your League, immediately broke the record for most watched new Latin song on YouTube, racking up more than 63 million views in 24 hours.
In the song, Shakira takes several digs at her former husband, 35-year-old Piqué, who she separated from in 2022 after 11 years. The two have two children together.
Since their separation, Piqué has begun a relationship with a 23-year-old woman.
“A she-wolf like me isn’t for rookies,” Shakira sings in the song. “I was out of your league, that’s why you’re with someone just like you.”
“I’m worth two 22-year-olds. You traded in your Ferrari for a Twingo. You traded in your Rolex for a Casio,” she sings. “So much time at the gym, but maybe work out your brain a bit too.”
In the song, Shakira also mentions her mother-in-law, the media and her ongoing tax fraud case with the Spanish authorities, who say she failed to pay €14.5 million (U$14.8 million) in taxes.
“You left me with your mom as a neighbor, the press at my door and a debt at the Treasury,” she sings. “You thought you’d hurt me but you made me stronger. Women no longer cry, women get paid.”
Over the weekend, residents near her house in Spain have reported that Shakira has been blasting the song at full volume while also installing a witch doll on her balcony.
A video showing the witch doll has gone viral on Twitter, gaining more than 7.5 million views.
And people are here for the drama.
