This South Korean Football Player Has Caused A Huge Controversy After He Didn't Hold An Umbrella For A Woman Interviewer
The controversy sparked a debate with some saying Western men were more “considerate” than Korean men.

This South Korean football player has caused a huge controversy after he didn't hold an umbrella for a woman interviewer.

After a friendly match between Tottenham Hotspur and Newcastle United in South Korea on Aug. 3, Son Heung-min was interviewed by K-pop star Oh Ha-young from Apink, who held up an umbrella for him.
A post then went viral on X comparing Son to British player Ben Davies who was also interviewed by Oh but held the umbrella for her.

Some people called Song “rude” and didn't show proper manners.

This sparked a debate, with some saying Western men were more “considerate” and that Korean and Western men were taught manners differently.

Photos from another angle later revealed Son was holding a microphone pack behind his back, meaning he had no free hand to hold the umbrella.
