South Korean authorities have charged a 67-year-old man for attempted murder and arson after he set fire to a Seoul metro carriage on May 31.
The man, identified with the surname Won, allegedly poured gasoline on train while it was traveling through a tunnel between stations and set fire to a piece of clothing.
CCTV showed people screaming and fleeing from the carriage before it erupted into flames.
The fire injured six passengers and caused smoke inhalation injuries to another 23 people, including Won, who were taken to the hospital.
Won was arrested shortly after the incident and told police he had set fire to the train because he was unhappy with the outcome of his divorce lawsuit, local media reported.
In 2003, a man set fire to a metro train as it arrived into a station, killing 192 people and injured another 151, in the deadliest single deliberate incident in South Korean peacetime history.
