Dozens of skiers gathered to create the shape of a heart on the slopes of Crans-Montana in the Swiss Alps to honor the victims killed after a fire broke out at a New Year’s party at a resort bar.

On the early morning of Thursday, Jan. 1, a fire engulfed the Le Constellation bar located in the upscale Crans-Montana ski resort, which is a hotspot during holidays.

The tragedy left 40 people dead aged 14 to 39, with at least 15 people killed under the age of 18, according to BBC.

116 other people were injured, and all of them have been identified.

Authorities said on Monday, Jan. 5, they had revised the number of people injured down from 119 to 116 as three people admitted to the hospital on Thursday morning had been wrongly recorded as being injured in the blaze.

On Sunday, Jan. 4, the Ski Snowboard School of Crans-Montana, alongside other local ski clubs and supported by the local authority, held a tribute in the slopes of the mountain, according to Reuters.

Many of the skiers were young people set to compete in the Grand Prix Crans-Montana Junior that day.

Videos of the event showed dozens of people skiing down the slope, eventually coming together to form a heart on the slope.

“In deep solidarity, Crans-Montana and the entire ski community mourn together. Our thoughts go out to all the victims, as well as to those providing care, help and support,” the ski school wrote on Instagram.
