Local police revealed that the speeding duck's offense was not the first. Seven years ago, another duck was photographed at the same spot and speed.

Local officials said it would be impossible to manipulate sealed radar camera images for pranks, adding that the mallard was highly likely a repeat offender.

Köniz officials addressed the incident with humor, posting on Facebook: "We wish you a lot of fun sensing about curious coincidences, criminal machinations of animals and the maximum flight speed of ducks."

People in the comments, meanwhile, have been asking what the penalty would be awaiting the feathered offender.
