Thousands Of Displaced Syrian Families Are Reuniting After Rebels Seized Aleppo From The Regime

After rebels took control of most of Aleppo, Syrian families are reuniting and returning to their homes after they were forced to flee president Bashar al-Assad's regime's brutality.

In 2016, thousands of Syrians had to leave Aleppo to flee the regime’s brutality.

In 2011, peaceful protests against the regime in Syria turned into a war.

Armed opposition groups created the Free Syria Army to fight the regime.

Since then, al-Assad’s regime has been in a civil war with rebels.

In 2016, with the help of its allies, the regime took control of Aleppo.

But on Nov. 27, rebels launched a surprise offensive from the northwest.

As of Nov. 30, rebels have seized most of Aleppo, and now people are returning to their homes after years of being displaced.
