This will allow trans people to get health services such as hormone replacement therapy also known as(HRT).

Previously, trans people in Thailand had to pay for gender-affirming care on their own.

Research from human rights groups and the UN found that this forced many people to take hormones without guidance from healthcare providers, increasing health risks.

The government said the funding aims to reduce health inequalities and improve access to both physical and mental healthcare for trans people.

However, Thailand still doesn't allow trans people to update their legal gender on their official documents.
