Trevor Noah Joked About Trump's Ties To Epstein At The Grammys And Now Trump Wants To Sue Him
Trump responded on his Truth Social platform, saying Noah is a “total loser” and denied he spent any time on Epstein’s private island, Little Saint James.
South African comedian Trevor Noah made a stab at US president Donald Trump’s ties to the late American sex offender Jeffrey Epstein and Trump’s aspirations to annex Greenland at the 2026 Grammy Awards, and Trump has threatened to sue him.
Noah’s comments came after the US released thousands of documents related to Epstein’s sex trafficking case, including the names of high-profile politicians, celebrities and business figures.
Trump knew Epstein socially in the 1990s and early 2000s but claims he cut ties before Epstein’s first conviction in 2008.
While hosting the Grammys on Sunday, Feb. 1, Noah said on stage that Song of the Year award is “a Grammy that every artist wants almost as much as Trump wants Greenland.”
“Which makes sense. I mean, because Epstein’s island is gone, he needs a new island to hang out with Bill Clinton,” Noah added.“I told you, it’s my last year [hosting the Grammys]! What are you going to do about it?” he said.
Trump responded hours later on his Truth Social platform, saying Noah is a “total loser” and denied he spent any time on Epstein’s private island, Little Saint James.
“I can’t speak for Bill, but I have never been to Epstein Island, nor anywhere close, and until tonight’s false and defamatory statement, have never been accused of being there, not even by the Fake News Media. Noah, a total loser, better get his facts straight, and get them straight fast,” he wrote.
He then threatened to sue Noah, ending the rant with, “Get ready Noah, I’m going to have some fun with you!”
Trump later told reporters that the released documents exonerated him, claiming Epstein and author Michael Wolff were “conspiring” to politically “hurt” him.
Trump said he would likely sue Wolff and Noah, suggesting that similar situations have “worked out” in his favor.
In September 2025, late night talk show Jimmy Kimmel Live! was temporarily pulled off air after a monologue by Kimmel sparked a similar response from Trump.
