US President Donald Trump has called Israel’s Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu a “war hero” for bombing Iran’s nuclear facilities unprovoked, adding that “I guess I am [a war hero] too.”

The US bombed Iran on June 13 after Israel launched a large-scale, unprovoked attack on Iran’s nuclear and military facilities, claiming that Iran was close to developing a nuclear weapon.

In an interview on right-wing talk radio show the Mark Levin Show, Trump said Netanyahu was “a war hero because we work together.”

“I guess I am, too. Nobody cares, but I am too. I mean I sent those planes,” he added, referring to the US planes he sent to bomb Iran’s key nuclear facilities.

Netanyahu is wanted by the International Criminal Court (ICC) for war crimes and crimes against humanity, including murder, persecution and using starvation as a weapon of war during Israel’s genocide in Gaza.

Israel‘s genocide has killed more than 62,614 Palestinians since Oct. 7, 2023.
