This Woman Reporter Asked Trump About The Epstein Files And He Attacked Her For "Never Smiling"
“You know, she’s a young woman, I don’t think I’ve ever seen you smile.”
US president Donald Trump attacked a woman CNN reporter for not smiling and called her “the worst reporter” after she asked him about the survivors of late sex offender Jeffrey Epstein and their right to justice.
Trump knew Epstein socially in the 1990s and early 2000s but claims he cut ties before Epstein’s first conviction in 2008.
On Tuesday, Feb. 3, CNN reporter Kaitlan Collins started pressing him with questions about Epstein as Trump claimed the thousands of newly-released documents related to Epstein’s sex trafficking case “absolved” him and were only damaging to Democrats.
Collins pointed out that documents also revealed Epstein had close ties to two of Trump’s allies, his commerce secretary Howard Lutnick and Elon Musk, to which Trump responded “I’m sure they’re fine.”
Collins then told Trump that a lot of women who are survivors of Epstein’s sexual abuse are unhappy with” the way the justice department redacted the documents.
Trump avoided the question, saying “I think it’s really time for the country to get on to something else, now that nothing came out about me” and repeated that the documents exonerated him, claiming Epstein and author Michael Wolff were “conspiring” to politically “hurt” him.
“I think it’s time, now, for the country maybe to get on to something else,” Trump repeated, trying to end the conversation.
However, Collins pressed him again asking, “what would you say to people who feel they haven’t gotten justice, Mr. President?”
“You know, you are the worst reporter,” Trump then replied, adding, “You know, she’s a young woman, I don’t think I’ve ever seen you smile.”
“I’ve known you for 10 years. I don’t think I’ve ever seen a smile on your face,” Trump said.
He then went on to say Colling was not smiling because she was “not telling the truth,” calling CNN a “dishonest” organization.
“These are survivors of a sexual abuser,” Collins replied.
Trump has attacked Collins before, writing in December 2025 in a post on his Truth Social platform, “Caitlin Collin’s of Fake News CNN, always Stupid and Nasty.”
