Trump Announced That Israel And Iran Have Agreed To A Ceasefire But No One Knows If It Will Hold
“The ceasefire is now in effect. Please do not violate it!” Trump said on his Truth Social platform.

Iran and Israel have finally agreed to a ceasefire after 12 days of intense attacks, but Israel vowed to attack Iran again, claiming that Iran had violated the ceasefire.
Israel launched a large-scale, unprovoked attack on Iran’s nuclear and military facilities on June 13, claiming that Iran was close to developing a nuclear weapon, and the two continued to attack each other since then.
Then, in the early hours of Sunday, June 22, US president Donald Trump announced that the US had joined Israel in bombing Iran, hitting Iran’s three key nuclear facilities.
In retaliation, on late Monday, June 23, Iran launched a missile attack towards the largest US military base in the Middle East, the Al Udeid Air Base, in Qatar’s capital Doha and the Ain al-Asad Air Base in Iraq.
Hours later, Trump announced that Israel and Iran had agreed to a ceasefire brokered by the US and Qatar, following 12 days of war marked by waves of missile strikes and air raids from both sides.
“The ceasefire is now in effect. Please do not violate it!” Trump said on his Truth Social platform.
The ceasefire was set to take effect on Tuesday, June 24, six hours after Trump’s announcement, after both sides completed pre-existing military operations, with a gradual commencement to allow for ongoing missions to wind down.
Iran was to halt its attacks at 4:30 am local time, and Israel was to halt its attacks 12 hours later, according to Al Jazeera.
Iranian state media then announced that a ceasefire was in effect at 4:30 am, shortly after Iran launched a final barrage of missiles at Israel, killing at least four people and injuring others in Beersheba city.
Israeli authorities called these attacks as a violation of the ceasefire, vowing to retaliate.
Iranian state media denied that any missiles were launched after the ceasefire took effect, insisting the truce was being observed.
Israeli defense minister Israel Katz then stated that he had ordered the military to resume “the intense operations to attack Tehran and to destroy targets of the regime and terror infrastructure,” AP reported.
