People Are Sharing Their Most Unhinged Lockdown Behavior After A Study Found It Had “Minimal” Mental Health Effects
“i made dua lipa in the Sims and locked her in a burning building because her new song annoyed me.”
A recent study has found that the COVID-19 pandemic had “minimal” impact on the mental health of people in high-income European and Asian countries, prompting people to share some of their most unhinged behaviour during lockdown.
The BBC featured the study by BMG review in an article and shared it on Twitter, where people had some thoughts about the conclusion.
Kept away from friends and family, people spent time with their favorite household appliances.
And, for the first time ever, recognized and celebrated the appliances’ hard work.
People also celebrated important milestones in the most 21st-century manner possible: on the internet.
They tested the limits of sports in confined areas.
And pushed the boundaries of fashion.
People got too creative.
And were forced to learn new skills.
Even pets got involved.
Someone please do a study about the mental health effects of the pandemic on computer game characters next.
COVID-19 has claimed the lives of over 6 million people and has had a negative impact on people’s mental health, especially those who previously struggled with it.
The research published in the BMG review did not include disadvantaged groups, low-income countries, or younger generations.
“High risk of bias in many studies and substantial heterogeneity suggest caution in interpreting results,” the study concluded.
